Forest Improvement and Productivity Division
This programme seeks to increase forest cover, improve the productivity of forest plantations and promote integration of trees on farms and degraded landscapes, while building resilience to climate change. Priority areas include:
- Rehabilitation and restoration of degraded landscapes
- Forest plantations and silviculture
- Agroforestry and food security
- Germplasm supply and distribution system
- Genetics, tree breeding, biotechnology, domestication and conservation
- Forest health surveillance (pests and diseases)
- Climate change and forest productivity
- Sustainable wood fuel production
