Grants and Projects Office
INTRODUCTION
The Grants and Projects Office (GPO) of CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana is a functional unit within the institute dedicated to standardizing and improving grants and project management practices. The GPO is responsible for administering research support activities related to grant sourcing, proposal/ grant submissions, research grants/contract management including donor relations, amongst other activities. The GPO’s vision is to be a driving force behind the research support services of the institute by ensuring that the institute responds to competitive funding opportunities that align with the institute’s mission.
FOUNDATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The foundational responsibilities of the GPO include the following:
- Standardizing grants and projects-related governance processesEstablishing processes and policies for grants and project management
- Project Support Offering institutional skill development support, guidance, and resources to facilitate the identification, dissemination of funding opportunities, and assisting with proposal development and submissions.
- Project grant resource management : ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently to maximize project success.
- Performance Monitoring: Tracking and analyzing project performance to ensure compliance adaptive learning and improvement.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The specific responsibilities are:
- Identification and dissemination of funding opportunities
- Assisting with proposal development and submissions
- Facilitating registrations with external donors to aid grant submissions
- Facilitating the provision of institutional letters of support
- Meeting sponsor requirements and needs related to due diligence procedures and compliance considerations and reporting.
- Support the management of both internally and externally funded grants,
- Managing information on grant regulations,
- Assisting in the preparation and submission of required reports and ensuring adherence to project requirements
- Facilitating and enhancing the grant management systems
- Nurturing research networks.
