Dr. Crentsil Kofi Agyekum is a Research Scientist in the Division of Forest Economics and Marketing at Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-FORIG). He holds a PhD. in Applied Economics from Beijing University of Technology China.
His research focuses on the application of economic theories to determine the likely outcomes associated with various possible courses of action in the real world. By better understanding the likely consequences of choices made by individuals, businesses, and policymakers as well as applying Marketing theories in forest product and services in a given economy.
The nature of his work includes field-based research, conducting baseline surveys, feasibility and impact assessment studies, Marketing, commodity value and supply chain studies, socio economic valuation and policy analysis.
He serves as an adjunct faculty Instructor for Ghana communication and Technology University(School of Business and management Studies)He serves as a supervisor for graduate students at CSIR College of Science and Technology (CCST)
He also serves as a member of China Research Centre for Economic Transition (BJUT) and also an African Representation of Ecological Development Union International (EDUI).

Dr Kofi. Agyekum was the first International student who Coe-worked with one of a renowned professor and a research scientist, professor Huang Haifeng in Peking University China. He was the deputy director responsible for International scientific research and publications for the organization. He served in his early days as the national coordinator and Financial officer for the student Union of Adventists in Cape Coast Technical University between the periods of 2008 to 2009, and also became the national coordinator for the Ghana national association of Kwahu student in Cape Coast Technical university within the period of 2008 to 2009.
He was elected as the Financial secretary of the National Union of Ghana students in China Beijing Chapter in 2015-2016.
Dr. Kofi Agyekum has appeared on China daily news on two occasions to give his opinion and advice on China’s 70th years Economic reforms committee annual meeting held in Beijing October 2018 and February 2019 respectively. He has previously served as panelist of a popular television program such as United TV and deliberated Economic issues of Ghana.
