Mr. Emmanuel Minkah is the Scientific Secretary of Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-FORIG). He holds a MSc. in Food and Postharvest Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
Emmanuel is a practicing agriculturist with over 23 years of working experience. He has taught over 1000 students in postharvest technology at both Kwadaso Agricultural College and Ejura Agricultural College and has supervised over 100 students in Postharvest Technology on their research project/thesis.
He has been providing training services to farmers in rice, maize and cowpea (cultivation and processing) and has developed training manuals. He has also trained over 500 farmers and 150 Agric extension agents at Adaklu, Hohoe, Agotime, Ho, Bawjiase Aframso, Nkoranza and Nnobewam on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
Emmanuel also has over 10 years of working experience in feed formulation and has worked with Darko Farm and Company Limited as Feedmill manager and Nakoff Farm as Farm manager respectively.
He has also developed feed formulation software called MaxMinSoft and has trained over 25 poultry farmers including Jilly farms, Ocads farms, Topman farms, Kumah farms and Nakoff farms on practical ways of formulating feed.
Currently his research focuses on food processing engineering, Dry of Tree Seeds and Crops (Fruits, Vegetables, Cereal and Grains), Agroforestry and Forest Ecology.
