Engr. Dr. Prosper Mensah is a dedicated research scientist and lecturer affiliated with the CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana. He is a certified engineer, having received his accreditation from the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana, in 2021.

Engr. Dr. Mensah holds both a Doctor of Philosophy (2021) and a Master of Philosophy (2009) in Wood Science and Technology from the University of Education, Kumasi Campus. He completed his Bachelor of Education in Technology Education at the same institution with first-class honors. A trained educator, he also holds a Certificate 'A' from Komenda College of Education, reflecting his commitment and passion for teaching.

Engr. Dr. Mensah is passionate in his trained area of research; production and characterization of particleboards, characterization of wood, wood machining, production of furniture and testing, research into green adhesives, develop trade standards and education curriculum.

His love for education has led him to contribute significantly to the work of National Council for Curriculum & Assessment [NaCCA], developing Applied Technology; Teachers Manual (Applied Technology Teacher manual.indd (t-tel.org). Applied-Technology-TV.pdf (t-tel.org)) and Applied Technology; Handbook for Teachers (Applied-Technology-TV.pdf (t-tel.org). Applied-Technology-year-1-bk2.pdf (t-tel.org)). and his passion for technical and vocational education has impacted the activities of Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training [CTVET], developing curriculum and manuals for Competency-based Training for NP, NC and HND levels.

He is currently an active member of National Technical Committee on Precision Quality.

He is Co-leading the implementation of GSDF funded project at CSIR-FORIG; The Establishment of Bamboo Artefact Production, Training Centre (BAP-TC) at CSIR-FORIG.

He is a member of several committees in local and international levels such as Help Start Education Foundation [HSTF]-USA: Advisory Board Member. (Board of Advisors — Help Start Education Foundation), and Reviewer and a Trainer for Geneva Office of Human Right Education [GO-HRE] – Ghana. He is also the technical officer on the Foundation Franklinia, Geneva, Switzerland funded project; Coordinating and Supporting the Implementation of Ghana’s Threatened Tree Conservation Action Plan. He is a reviewer for several reputable journals and worn the 2024 Director’s Special Award – Highest Number of Publications category at CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana. In addition to his research role, He contributes as a part-time lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Department of Forest Resource Technology) and Akenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (Department of Construction and Wood Technology).

An active Senior Minister in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he serves as Stake President for the Kumasi Ghana Ejisu Stake, where he provides leadership to fifteen ecclesiastical leaders in a designated part of the region. His dedication to both his scientific field and community service is reflected in his numerous scientific publications.
